Check-ins are regular conversations between managers and employees and can cover current work, progress on objectives, feedback on performance and general wellbeing. These are designed to be quick and less formal than a standard review.
They can be started by managers (or employees, if enabled) at any time and this can encourage employees to take greater ownership of their performance management. Some organisations encourage their employees to have monthly check-ins with their managers.
Check-ins are based on a 2-stage workflow. This workflow allows managers and employees to complete their parts of the check-in simultaneously. For more information, please see our help page on the difference between check-ins and reviews.
Check-ins are an opportunity for either side to raise any concerns or address any issues that relate to the team, the business or the outside world. For this purpose, Appraisd has three default check-in forms - one on current work, one on general wellbeing and one aimed at those working remotely.
