Check-ins are regular conversations between managers and employees and can cover current work, progress on objectives, feedback on performance and general well-being. These are designed to be quick and less formal than a standard review.
They can be started by managers or employees at any time and this can encourage employees to take greater ownership of their performance management. Some organisations encourage their employees to have monthly check-ins with their managers.
Check-ins are based on a 2-stage workflow. This workflow allows managers and employees to complete their parts of the check-in simultaneously.
As check-ins are an opportunity for either side to raise any concerns or address any issues that relate to the team, the business or the outside world. For this purpose, Appraisd has two default check-in forms - one on current work, and one on general well-being.
Enabling check-ins on your account
You can follow the steps below to enable check-ins on your account:
First ensure that you have set up a check-in form and mark it as a quick review form. To check, go to Administration Centre > Form design.
Then, go to Configuration > Workflow and switch on the setting Enable two step workflow with optional self assessment.
Click on the Advanced tab and switch on Enable instant check-ins and Employees can set up their own check-ins.
Managers and employees should now be able to complete check-ins on your account.
If you would like to enable check-ins and want some more information on how to do so, please do not hesitate to contact us via chat or email us at support@appraisd.com
