Sharing an objective with your team
If you're a manager, you can choose to make some of your objectives visible to your direct reports. When you add a new objective, you will see the following options at the bottom of the pop-up (in this example we're logged in as Jenny).
The default option selected will make the objective visible to your manager(s), but not your team. If you'd like to make the objective visible to your team (as well as your manager), select X's team.
On your Objectives tab, you can see which objectives are shared with your team and which objectives are just visible to your manager(s):
Contributing to a shared objective
Once your manager has added some shared objectives, you can contribute to them when you add a new one for yourself.
On your Objectives tab, you can see your manager's shared objectives:
When you add a new objective, you will be asked if you'd like to contribute the objective to one of your manager's shared objectives and you can select one from the dropdown list:
Once your objective has been saved, you can open your manager's shared objective directly from yours to view it in full and add progress updates:
When you or your manager opens the original shared objective, you/they will see which objectives are contributing to it:
Note: Progress updates added to shared objectives are visible to anyone who has visibility over the objective. For example, if you share an objective with your team members, these users will see any progress updates that anyone adds to the shared objective.
